Lazy Sunday is a three-color print made for a screen printing class. It’s a ‘magically realistic’ self-portrait, which shows me in my living room, surrounded by things I love: a few of my favorite books make a cameo, as do some of my most cherished possessions and my houseplants.
I’ve been fascinated by soft pinks and bright yellow-greens in the past few years, which means they often show up when I get to pick colors unrestrictedly. This was the first project in which they featured simultaneously.
This image was drawn on an iPad, in Procreate, layer by layer. It is my first-ever screen print. I love learning new ways of making things by hand, since I tend to work digitally. Challenging oneself and exploring one’s creative expression is the key to constantly improving as a designer.
