Every five years, the KY Foundation organizes a black-tie ball to celebrate those who have contributed to its longstanding success. Everyone who’s ever worked at the KY office is invited. The next iteration of this event is in the fall of 2024, which means that I got to create the (simple) brand for it during my tenure as KY’s Art Director.
The centerpiece of this project is a printed invitation. The adjective that guided my design process was ‘elegant’. The choice of teal is a nod to green having been a central part of KY’s brand since the association’s inception. The typefaces used are Moret Regular, Orpheus Pro and Martina Plantijn. The latter is also used in Kylteri Magazine, which the KY Foundation publishes. I drew a delicate flower to be used on the invitation’s back.
In addition to the printed invitation, I also designed a simple website for the event, through which the invitees can sign up to attend. The site was created to my specifications by Valtteri Häkkinen. My contract at KY came to a close before the site was fully updated, so it’s displayed below as it appeared at the time of my departure, since I haven’t been involved in the design process since then.
